About Me

Introduction

My design ideas stem from growing up and working in my family's business, A Nubian Notion, Inc., in Roxbury, MA, an urban neighborhood of Boston. Starting in 1962, my family's business sold greeting cards from Black owned greeting card companies and foreign and domestic afrocentric gifts for over 54 years.

Life's Paper designs are themed on Black American life experiences and images with alignment to the four seasons of the year. Each design speaks its own language through the images. I have a passion for pens, handwriting and paper.  I  prefer these writing tools in the place of digital.  As a happy medium, I have combined paper with digital to create Life's Paper graphic designed stationery.

In my academic career, I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Writing from Northeastern University and a Master of Arts Teaching English as a Second Language degree from Simmons University.  I am currently pursuing a Masters in Education Leadership degree from Harvard University Graduate School of Education.

As an ESL Teacher in the Boston Public Schools, I reside in Roxbury with my cat Macho.  Yes, I'm a pet parent!  When I'm not designing, I love dining with friends, shoe shopping, spending time with my daughter and watching documentaries.

I do not eat pork.

Come along on this journey as I show you what's in my mind for stationery.

Life and Love Everyone!
